Sharks in the Mountains?

Anyone heard about SITM this year...?

A while back I had not seen anything on RL like usual.

I have to go down there anyway to vista my Dad, but just need to know whether to stay in Banner Elk or not as that is a little far if there is no SITM.

This will be the first road trip of the year....I usually do not get a chance before then.

I'm probably going to be there, but not with 928; My schedule has me in Chattanooga for that time, I'll probably rent a turkey and drive it over.

Just back and this time I have some video I am processing.
There were less cars there this time for sure and couple of regulars were not there, but really, I think it may have been one of my favorite weekends!

A lot of folks I know from earlier gatherings were there and the weather was nice even though it sprinkled a bit from time to time. The format was changed so that the show was at the hotel in front by the road, some outsiders dropped by and it was a very congenial group.

Had a lunch at the hotel during, then went on a 2 hour Fun Run,,,the best since I have been going by far. Power hill climbs, sweeping curves, twistys, hairpins,,, long descents, braking...you name it, if you wanted a good test of your machine,, this was a good one I think.

Dinner was an hour after the Fun Run at the Sorrentos Sushi night Club, and yes you could get Sushi there,, which I did,,,and the food was really good at our table. Nice atmosphere.

So I meet some new friends and had a really good time, yes a little more laid back at night etc... but real nice I think. Ran up US 221 on the way back on Sunday AM,,, great drive. I will definitely hit it again next year.

I'm a little late to post, but I will say, this was my 3rd SITM, and it was a great time. I did not think I would like the change up, but it actually worked out better. I got to go on 1/2 the fun run, riding shotgun in Harvey yanceys awesome OB. My first fun run. I did not tow 30 up this year, she has no wheels on her, and is in more of a state of disassembly than last year. I had to leave in the cover of darkness on Sunday morning due to a family emergency, which sucked, but I had a great time. Can't wait for next year...planning on having 30 drivable by then!
