Anodized wheel polishing was created by dangibbons
I have the goldish anodized wheels on my '85. I'd like to polish them up to a mirror shine if possible, but it seems that they always have a dull, streaky look to them. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

I can understand the desire to shine them up. I have chrome on my '84 and it makes a huge aesthetic difference for the full face design of the wheel. My suggestion would be to try a buffer on them coupled with an aggressive compound.

You will need a machine polisher of some sort - whether electric or air. As stubborn as they may be to polish, you need heat provided by a machine polisher to noticeably change the sheen. I've had big results with this on the old manhole cover wheels.

I found a cheap and relatively easy fix - Nevr-Dull wadding to clean them, then vaseline/petroleum jelly rubbed in. Made a huge diference! I originally thought they were gold anodized, but turns out they are silver. The Never-Dull does a great job cleaning them, and the vaseline really covers up whatever the streakiness .

I have a post elsewhere here on this, you can search, but Dan is correct, unless you remove the anodization (no going back) they will not shine. But they will look a LOT better if you clean then one of 2 ways (I am sure Dans works as well)
1 - use GOOP hand cleaner - apply with sponge etc. and let sit for a short time, say 10-15 muntes then wash off
2 - apply vaseline with a sponge or paper towel.... you will be amazed.
Alternative cleaner I just found to be very good and less messy than GOOP - Sonax spray - it even says it is good for Anodized wheels on the back of the can. And that is unusual. I tried a sample from Frenzy and it does work really well.

Added - a relatively soft bristled brush, like horsehair etc to help kind of get the Sonax or GOOP into all the nooks and crannies and some of the more gunked up crevices is a good idea as well.
