Headlights won’t come up or turn on! was created by Jjburns15
Hi everyone,
I would appreciate again any help with the following:
I am restoring a 1989 928 S4 after it had been spending 10 years in the garage without being used! Have replaced fuel injectors fuel pump and completed all maintence items!
Engine is running nice now!
My newest issue with my the car is that the headlights won’t come up or turn on!
It once did come up but then the lights stayed up but the lights would work so I could drive it.
Now nothing ... Guessing it is the double relay?
Thank you for your support !
Best,
John

If there is a relay, it can be removed and jumpered to determine if the headlamp rotation motors are working.

The factory workshop manuals can be downloaded at: www.ligeti.com/928/ This relay illustration is from the page for the lighting system. Following the schematic will indicate what the switches operate. If you're familiar with electrical circuits, the test is doable.

Hi Rich,
The headlights are a double relay so it’s a bit tricky.
I had created a jumper for a single relay for the fuel injectors but not sure which posts to jump on the headlights!
Is there a way to wire headlight motor with 12 volt battery?
Thank you
John
