Newbie from the frozen north checking in and saying hey. was created by Arctic928
Hello from Alaska,
Just traveled over 1000 miles, thru 3 mountain ranges to pick up my first 928. It's an early 5-speed 928 manufactured in Dec, 1977, #143. Took 3 days of traveling over some sketchy icy, snowy roads to get this beautiful early shark home. I've had a chance to drive it a little, but it's winter here and one has to be careful on the road, so it's easy does it. Looking forward to preserving this car and painting it back to it's original black. I'm sure I'll be on here with tons of questions. Cheers and take care,

You own a beautiful example of a rare and early 928, congratulations.
You are lucky that 928s have excellent heaters ... I live in Arizona and our problem is heat and sadly the early 928s have trouble keeping up with our summertime temperatures.

My new favorite episode of Ice Road Truckers! Good to see that the trip was completed safely.
Looks like a nice example you've acquired. Congrats!
Nice to see I'm not the only new blood to the Shark club. Be sure to steer clear of the frenzies. ; )

That looks like it is in really nice shape for that year,,, at least you have nice platform to work with and you can have a great time with it right off the bat.

Congratulations, on your purchase. Great looking car, and condition looks good too. My 78 has the same interrior and is red. What makes you think the car was originally black. I see some red paint missing under the hood, along inner fenders, but don't see any black underneath, and it looks like there is some paint missing on the drivers fender, though it could be a reflection or something, and I'm not sure if I see any black there either.
Where did you have to go to get her? You say 1000 miles, so I'm assuming it was in Canada or Washington state?
Anyhow, looks like a great project. Look forward to following along. Another great resource for 928 info is Rennlist...a lot of knowledgeable folks over there too.
Brian.

Well the owner told me it was originally black and I can see black paint showing from places the red didn't adhear to. The car was on the other side of the state, so didn't have to travel to Canada or Washington,. Alaska is a big ol state and the miles rack up. It takes days to travel from one end to the other. Thanks for the kind words and look forward to driving when the temps are warmer than -25f.
