Hello Whale Driver,
the 928s with automatic transmissions do not have a dip stick. The at has a plastic tank at the side that when cleaned up you can see the AT level.
The proper procedure to check the fluid level is:
Warm up the transmission oil, best to drive a bit prior to checking the level.
The 928 needs to be on a level surface (hoist or underground pit), run the transmission through all gears. Put in neutral with parking brake set, engine idling.
Shine a bright light on the tank. You can see the max and min hot levels on the plastic. If the level is low, use a pump with hose to fill as necessary. The A/T fluid is Dexron III (same as used in the power steering)
